SUPER SECRET SQUIRREL PROJECTS REVEALED

I hate hate hate hate being under NDAs. I can be under NDAs. I am happy to sign NDAs to work with fiction writers, and cool projects, and more fiction writers. (I really like science consulting with fiction writers). I nevertheless hate knowing cool stuff that I can’t share. I do science journalism for reasons — I like to share content with people.

So color me frustrated to be working on TWO DIFFERENT SUPER COOL THINGS I can’t really talk about because NDAs to the eyeballs. One of these I’ve mentioned before: I’m consulting with OurSky; a project working to make observational astronomy significantly easier for those looking to do science and astrophotography (and I mean “and” — like helping folks do both at once kind of “and”). Last week, OurSky launched their Twitter feed, @ourskyai, and their website, oursky.ai. I’m going to encourage you to give them a follow and watch as we work to spread the sciencing goodness to more and more telescopes.

OK, moving right along… I am a serious adult-type person; a serious, probably over-caffeinated and entirely too excited, adult-type person.

In other news… A while back I got this cryptic message from some of the good new-feature folks at Twitter. They couldn’t say why they were writing until I signed an NDA (which I did). Then, I couldn’t say anything until they went public (which they did). Today, Twitter launched a new long-form writing feature called Notes that allows a few beta testers to write essays native to…
